Attract the Right Job Or Clientele:

Be Seen, Be Yourself, and Earn The Sale

Are you afraid to be in the spotlight? And is this habit of staying small keeping you invisible, and preventing you from getting the job you want or making sales? To be successful and be seen, it is necessary to be yourself and earn the sale.

I remember the day when I realized how much I was holding myself back. I was on vacation with my family, and we were on a ziplining tour. While everyone else was ambling along at an easy pace, I was feeling energetic, so I ran ahead from one zipline to another.

As I did this, I began to feel self-conscious. I wondered, What do the other people here think of me? Do they think I’m being pushy or selfish when I keep running to the front of the line? Should I hold back, and avoid being so visible?

A moment after I thought that, it hit me: how frequently was I criticizing myself for anything that could make me stand out, and believing that taking the spotlight in any way was selfish, childish, or inappropriate?

How many times did I assume other people were judging me for something that really didn’t bother them, or that they actually saw as a positive?

Right then, I made a commitment to myself: no more holding back. No more assuming that other people didn’t like me when I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I would still be prepared to change my course if I saw that I was upsetting someone, but I wouldn’t hide or pretend to be something I wasn’t just to avoid offending people.

Not long after I made this commitment, I saw changes in the way people responded to me. Businesspeople at training events started to comment on how radiant, bold and outgoing I was.

Potential clients began to seek me out without me having to pursue them. And one of the other event-goers actually asked the speaker if I could share the story I just told you with the entire group! I hadn’t asked her to do that, but she was so inspired by my story and my presence that she wanted everyone to know how I did it.

Do you want people to respond to you that way?

If you want to be seen and admired for who you are, then you need to be visible.

Are you ready to make a commitment to yourself to live authentically from your heart, to be spontaneous without wondering what other people will think of you, and to allow yourself to shine and be seen?

People are waiting to be inspired by you. Don’t keep them waiting.
