Year-End Tips:  Part 3

Although not much fun, “clean-up” is the operative word in order to prepare for a fast start in the New Year.  Whether you are a job seeker with high expectations of promising interviews, or an entrepreneur seeking a thriving clientele, these tips pertain to you:

1.  Back up your computer and explore automatic backup software if not already in place.

There is nothing worse than losing the files you need most with no window of opportunity to retrieve.

2.  After a backup system is in place, delete document folders and documents you no longer use.

These may always be retrieved when a good backup system is in place.  Should you have multiples of a similar document, double check you have the latest, delete the rest.

3.  Create email folders for those you will be partnering with in the coming year.

Rather than keeping your in-box filled to capacity, create an organized system of email folders (under personal or company name) to easily retrieve when needed.

4.  Practice cleaning up email every evening.

Prevent this task from becoming overwhelming at any given point in time.

5.  Send a holiday newsletter to your database.

This has a two-fold purpose.  e-Mail will bounce for those no longer in business allowing you to refreshen your database.  The better part is good wishes brings about reconnecting as well as a nice exchange of holiday cheer!

Adhering to these tips will have you fast tracking the New Year and put you on the wave of the Smooth Sale!
