Deciding When You Need to Exit

In speaking with several friends this week, they were either deliberating over whether to begin a new business or job/career.  Each one of them was having difficulty sleeping as the decision was weighing heavily on their mind.

This type of decision is difficult no matter the experience, background or capabilities. Elements involved are, feeling guilty, wondering what others will think if you quit, and the wondering if the new opportunity is really that much better.

For the most part, the decision goes back to your priorities for both personal and business.  Consider which opportunity:

– Provides greater stability

– Matches more closely with what you desire

– Makes use of your inherent talent

– Will put you in front of the right team or clientele

– May bring greater reward

– Develop your marketing message for interviews or building a new version of business

– Will let you sleep at night

We each have one life to life, so it really doesn’t matter what others think except for those close to us.  Ultimately. though. the decision is yours.  My last suggestion is, sleep is important. so focus on the decision – and make it sooner than later.

Once you have finalized your decision, you will be headed for a Smooth  Sale!
