Try, Try Again

Growing up, I kept hearing sage advice that if something does not initially work out in your favor, to try, try again.  The meaning became clearer as I grew into that of a career salesperson and then entrepreneur.  Whether due to technology, economy or that the idea just wasn’t strong enough, many times “trying again” was required.

Sometimes the interview doesn’t go just right such as blurting out a lesson learned at a previous company that wasn’t listed on your resume; or, trying one talk track for a segment of business that doesn’t seem to work until you find the right one that does.  It’s all about eximentation to find the key for what does work well, and then continuing to repeat until that, too, needs to be changed.

In the process, not only will you find what’s right for the moment, but, you will most likely find additional ideas that add to your portfolio of expertise.  And when you are in the downward spiral of trying to figure it out, connect frequently with your close businessfriends.  They may stumble upon an ah-ha moment for you, and you will rapidly sail forth to finding the Smooth Sale!
