Do you have a difficult time adjusting from vacation back to business?
After a great vacation, I personally find focusing on matters at hand difficult. For that very reason, through the years, I developed my “Ease into Business” list as follows:
1. Arrange a coffee or lunch appointment for the day you return – something to look forward to!
2. Call people you have meant to follow-up with but didn’t and ask how their summer was; this provides you another opportunity to build relationships and briefly reminisce about your vacation!
3. Browse titles of received email for the exciting ones to open first – gives you a better reason for continuing!
Once again, I followed my top 3 tips after returning from a wonderful time in D.C. We spent quality time with a family member, toured the White House, ate fabulous food and too much of it, and visited Annapolis – a charming city.
Upon my return, I have a wonderful business lunch date ahead of me; followed-up with some, and I received one exciting email in particular that left me feeling as if I drank 10 cups of espresso! The announcement will be made next week!
Instead of holding a mindset of “Yuck, I have to return back to work“, you will find business development a snap by instead easing back into business. When you are relaxed and smiling, you will attract business by your effortless marketing style, turn prospects into clients and close more sales. Most importantly, they will be a Smooth Sale!
