Managing Time and appointments

For some being punctual is an art while for others it is a mystery at best case.  Most people fall somewhere in the middle.  Experiencing heavy traffic where we are currently visiting, I thought a few tips might be in order:

1.  Unfamiliar with the area where you need to be, the night before enter the route into GPS, look the route up on Google maps, or, if you still use paper maps – remember to use it!

2.  Whatever the ‘average’ suggested time allotment might state, allow extra time dependent upon how far away it your destination is located.

3.  Should there be some unusual time delay, and you are trying to make a job interview or client appointment, pull over to the side of the road and call the person you are to meet to let them know you will be late and the reason why.  Then ask permission to show up at the next best designated time.  Most often they will appreciate hearing the concern in your voice and you will be literally good to go.  

4.  Lastly, thank the person for being flexible when you arrive.  

Your actions demonstrate your personal brand in terms of thoughtfulness, leadership actions, and sends off a subliminal marketing message that you should be taken seriously.

This should put your interview or prospective client appointment on a solid footing headed toward

the Smooth Sale!
