Sassy Sometimes Works

Stepping up to the plate to play in business is sometimes an essential piece for working with the opposite sex.  To do this though, you can’t possibly try to fit in.  Instead, it’s imperative more than ever you be your true self.  This is where building your personal brand also comes into play.  

Notice the word “play” two times in one paragraph.  This is to point out to, those quieter in nature, that business sometimes requires strategy and strategical thinking.  Due to politics of organizations and demeanor of a minority, you sometimes need to play forthrightly but as if you are in a tennis match.  Notice their delivery and strategically answer back (swing) with thought and might.

For fun, I knew the men in the meeting would be dressed in techy clothes and all looking pretty much the same.  Upper management would be conducting the meeting.  I was in a gleeful mood so I walked in wearing bright pink top and modest gold jewelry.  Needless to say, I boldly stood out.  Job seekers you will do well to consider the strategies below for your next interview.

Sneers could be seen, but, at the same time, I was clearly seen too.  The strategy was, I did my research.   I  knew the situation, the points I wanted to highlight, and how to communicate those points well. Someone confided a problem to which I was able to give a gentle suggestion that was appreciated.  Before exiting, I made certain to shake everyone’s hand to say something friendly.  This served to build the relationship and blossoming interest. 

Accolades were mine.   I left knowing business was at hand, ready for the Smooth Sale!
