Attract the Right Job or Clientele:

Do You Focus On the One Thing That Brings A Smile?

Selling can be tedious and challenging so it’s essential to focus on the one that that brings a smile. We know that it’s far easier to sell to qualified and matched prospects along with like-minded peers. But what if your work feels like drudge work instead? You just aren’t “feeling it” as the expression goes.

Do you think the same might apply to you – that you need to sell yourself on the work ahead of you? Otherwise, you might not wish to get up or get going in the morning. But what if you created a project that brings a smile to your face? Would it excite you to the point you would happily devote hours of the day to fulfill the vision?

Heading into last quarter is a very good time for self-examination of your work, whether employed or an entrepreneur. It’s a great time to begin making plans for next year for an improved year.

Questions: Focus On The One Thing That Brings A Smile

  • Which aspect of your work do you most enjoy?
  • Can you create new avenues of service from “the one”?
  • What training do you need or what needs to be put in place to focus on that area?
  • What would the hoped-for ultimate outcome be for trying this new strategy?
  • What will the benefits look like and how may you leverage these to advance your cause?

Quiet Time

Give thought in your quiet time to your talent and the potential ahead to create something unique and exciting. Create a sheet with a title and then as you think of them, list components to the list. Underneath each component, list what will need to be done such as classes to tackle.

Prioritize List

Now that your list is compiled to advance toward your new vision, prioritize the components in terms of expense and time required to implement. A good rule of thumb to keep the momentum going is to begin with the least expensive and easiest pieces. Due to the ease, these will be quickly completed which will further motivate you to implement the remaining pieces.

Goals:  Focus On The One Thing That Brings A Smile

The worst thing you can do is to create a long-term goal and complete it. What? That doesn’t make sense, right? But it does. There is one exception. unless, prior to finishing, you have created a complementary or brand new vision. Otherwise, if you finish the first and have nothing to look forward to, depression might set in. To keep momentum up, it’s important to always test your limits and move toward the higher goals, and focus on the one thing that brings a smile.
