The Hurdle Retrospective

Once again I had “one of those days” where nothing worked properly.  Coincidentally, I was asked to write a long article describing roadblocks in my entrepreneurship that needed to be overcome to remain in business.  The two most difficult roadblocks over which I finally found victory were confidence and credibility.  The one that continues for me is technology.

Over time, I learned most all entrepreneurs need to re-establish confidence by building credibility in their new venture.  Negative others, lack of knowledge and things going wrong seem to be a war path on which we need to remain steadfast in order to win the battle.

And when my computer doesn’t cooperate, I enlist help.  If I can’t get it quickly enough, I go for a walk or exercise at the gym.  Coming back refreshed, gives me a more relaxed perspective to tackle the problem one more time.  Guess where I’m headed now…

Looking back, I finally recognized it is finding the joy in what we do that motivates us to try to move forward every day.  This is true for pursuing a career  via job interviews as well as for business development attracting the right clientele.  As Friday evening is approaching, give yourself a high five to recognize how far you have come.  This too is motivating to have a wonderful weekend and be ready for a new day on Monday.  May you always find the Smooth Sale!
