Flexibility creates the winning plan

Launching a business or career advancement requires planning, attention to details, and congruency of all the parts.  Unfortunately, as much as we plan down to the tiniest detail, unforeseen circumstances present themselves with which we have to deal in order to move forward.  

Struggling with setbacks never serves us well, but a willingness to find a way beyond the problem, will sometimes present an improved solution plus insight that the setback may have been a gift in disguise.  Learning to accept and move beyond is one of the best strategies to fast forward your goals.

Moving with the flow takes far less effort and is another aspect of work-life balance.  As you embrace the model, you come across to others as easy to work with, and in turn, it is your demeanor that encourages sales or the offer of an available job. 

Your more relaxed demeanor will also influence negotiation.  For example, when objections arise, ask why the person is of the particular belief.  Next, ask for details of their past experience.  Seeing you aren’t visibly startled or upset, but instead relaxed and wanting to find common ground, will produce insightful answers.  These answers become the basis for finding where you may come together in order to move forward. 

 Should you find yourself on the other side of the table while leading a project, become the motivating leader.  Encourage team members to discuss obstacles they encountered in order to brainstorm ideas for resolution.  Give everyone equal voice so that each feels as if they are an asset to the team. 

Sometimes numerous ideas will present themselves in team meetings.  Together, prioritize the ones that are most likely to succeed and get you to goal.  As an entrepreneur, prioritize according to your largest vision.  In either case, balance out the time and money investment.  Embrace the necessities, and those ideas most likely to bring about a successful conclusion. 

Those ideas not immediately selected should be held in mind for the more appropriate time.  Keep record of all the ideas from this point forward and revisit in your regularly scheduled meetings, even if these are held simply by you and for you.  Reviewing ideas bring about improved versions as time moves forward.
