Willingly Giving and Taking Suggestions?
A young friend decided he was tired of working for someone else and is now trying his hand at being an entrepreneur. The initial stage is very overwhelming to say the least. So many “must-do’s” upfront. Once in place, a sigh of relief is felt but then, oh no, someone tells you what you need to do next or how to improve what you so happily thought you had finished. How you handle this type of input makes a difference.
My findings are the helpful suggestions should not be ignored but implemented. So I was the one, admittedly, offering the suggestion. I was proudly shown a list of book titles on a Resources page. I initially did the same for others. But the realization hit, if I include a live link for the books to be purchased, I will be helping the other person out. The benefits are many:
– Increased activity on the website
– Appreciation from those I helped
– Appreciation from those visiting your site – and – inquiry into your other services!
In fact, make it a practice to ask for suggestions from others. It apepars we can always do better and it’s close to impossible to think of everything ourselves. The only caution is to remain authentic implementing only those ideas that make good sense and appeal to you most.
