Are you headed for a fire sale?

Recently, I conducted a few webinars and posed polling questions to the listening audience. Their answers sent off sirens in my mind. I recalled my early days of wondering whether or not my business would make it. Some of these folks are clearly facing the same concern. Three of the questions were:

1. Do you analyze your business for what’s working and what is not working: frequently, occasionally or never?

2. Do you add complementary services and/or products: frequently, occasionally or never?

3. Do you keep a tally on what’s working best and substitute what is not working for another project: frequently, occasionally or never?

Their answers pointed to best case, “occasionally” and the majority were at “never”. Without proper business planning, analysis, and a willingness to try new models periodically, quite bluntly, you will be headed for a fire sale on your assets.

The way I personally came out of this was to change my mindset to making a lifetime commitment to education. I began devouring marketing materials and business books to get out from the doubt and move forward.

When you, too, make this commitment, you will begin finding more “luck” comes your way. You will expand your area of expertise and be seen as a leader communicating to larger audiences and attracting a wider clientele. Establishing complementary ways to bring in revenue will save your assets.

Building relationship with those you touch (your prospects) will help you to close more sales. Some sales will actually flow without much effort making for a very Smooth Sale!
