Attract The Right Job Or Clientele:
Do You Balance Making Money with Trust?
Routinely, we witness those who balance making money with trust versus those who don’t. On occasion, we each get caught up in a scenario we would rather avoid. It’s best to consider if the person or company are worthy of our trust before entering into agreements of any type
Interestingly, effective selling strategies apply to figuring out whom you can trust. You may find the clues in your communications. Intuition and all communications, including written, voice, or video. They will reveal whether the other people and entities balance making money with trust or not.
In a traditional business meeting, whether in-person, by Zoom, or audio, it is essential to be attentive to the signals we hear and see.
The preliminary signals people hear and observe are:
- Tone of Voice
- Facial Expressions
- Curiosity
- Honesty or lack thereof
- Empathy upon striving to create a solution together
- Consistency
Upon detecting something may not be as it should, don’t instantly end the meeting. We can easily misunderstand the words we see or hear, or the other party will err. But don’t let anything slide, either. Be straightforward to demonstrate your integrity. Stop the progression by asking for clarification. Often, the better verbiage clears up the miscommunication and allows everyone to proceed.
The additional benefit to asking is that we come across as professional, and the action demonstrates our leadership capabilities. Accordingly, the prospect is encouraged to continue mapping out possibilities that grow the eventual sale.
Repeat: “Use the Q-L-C method ~ Question, Listen, Clarify ~ in all communications to verify everyone’s best interest comes first.
My Story:
As a person who follows the news and the associated stock market, highs and lows raise the question regarding balancing money with trust. Due to social media usage, everyone today is on center stage globally. Our communications can make a worldwide impact, good or bad. Being a formal speaker is no longer a requirement as we spread our message via our devices.
Should we be inspired to make a difference by serving others, it’s best to connect with those who aspire to do the same. As previously written, my best for last is in participating in the global community, Inclusion Allies Coalition. The organization provides the opportunity to meet people who hold similar values for business and life. The magic is in others echoing and sharing what we have to say.
For all businesses, no matter the size or service, it’s essential to train employees on what your sell plus your standard of ethics. Teach communication skills versus memorization of scripts. Have fun with improvisation training to make representatives feel comfortable on their stage with prospective clients. As our clientele detects we hold enjoyment in our work, they will be more likely to conduct business with us.

Your Story: Do You Balance Making Money with Trust?
The better way to answer the blog question is to consider all the past transactions that stand out in your mind. They can be ones you initiated or that of another. More importantly, begin comparing the ones you dislike against the ones you admire. As more come to mind, create a list of what you like most versus what you dislike and do not want to repeat.
As you review what previously occurred, consider how you may improve upon upcoming meetings. Admit whether it’s time to revise old habits and attempt something new. It may be time to take a class to update skills or determine whether you are ready to expand upon your career.
A side benefit to continual improvement is that people notice the effort you put into your work. One step leads to the next. Your new knowledge becomes noticeable, contributing to your branding, attraction marketing, and increasing sales volume. As all of this begins to fall in place, prospective partners will find and approach you to do business. And then, the process starts again to ensure you balance making money with trust.
An excellent way to determine if a prospective client or partner will be a good fit is to review their personal and company information first. Take note of what catches your interest to ask better questions later. Next, request an informational conversation to become familiar with one another and how the business operates. Most people agree to a casual business approach as it is more relaxed and encourages insightful conversation. Accordingly, it will be simple to weed out those who do not appear to work with integrity.
Time is of the essence, so it is imperative to find the trustworthy who can and will complement your work. By taking the precautionary steps upfront, you will place yourself in the direction of the Smooth Sale!
