Fire Devastation Sparks A Business Idea

The sadly repeating news about fire devastation sparks a business idea.  Concern was mine for a friend who built a new home in the Lake County of Northern California. I wrote to inquire how she dealt with the alarming fire. An immediate note back revealed a moving account of the six attempts made by she and her husband to return to their home to save their two dogs.

The very last attempt found both their dogs and their home safe. My friend and her family were very lucky in that regard. But unable to return home until things are more secure, they too are huddled in a shelter. In the process they are making new friends.

Business Ideas Stemming from Need

Serve the Local Community

Being in the financial industry, it was suggested to my friend that she donate some of her time to helping her new friends get back on their feet. Results of doing this:

  • Friends and community will be well served
  • New friends will be made in the process
  • She will become a recognized leader in her new community
  • No doubt some people will have money to invest with her once they have rebuilt their lives

Maintain Your Bigger Picture At All Times

Are you willing to give your vision of success everything you have?

Don’t give up but find a better way.  Fire devastation can spark business ideas.

  1. One of the best ways to gain new ideas is to check in with people you know when they come to mind. Ask about their current projects and which excites them the most. Exchange insights and briefly share your personal story. The connections will many times produce new ideas for all parties.
  2. Likewise, on occasion take the opportunity to participate in a special meeting or network where you haven’t previously attended. By meeting new people and sharing ideas with other leaders, you too will gain new ideas.
  3. We are all blasted with email and newsletters not to mention a zillion postings online. Upon recognizing those headlines or special words that catch your attention, take the time to read and comprehend them fully. You just might be led down a new path.
  4. Heed suggestions from your peers. Not all ideas will work for your business model. But when you find the one or two ideas that do work they may make a huge difference in your outcome.
  5. A positive mindset attracts increased numbers and serves to build relationships plus your personal brand.

“Open minds walk through open doors.”
