New Year – New Success!
This one strategy will make or break your success in the coming years. Review all of your processes for both interviewing and building business that are in place now. Which are working best, which are slowly becoming outdated and which must be eliminated now? It is vitally important to take action on the elimination process for a number of reasons.
- You remain current or cutting edge
- Remaining current attracts more prospects and clients
- You will remain in business or create a thriving career
Reviewing all that you have built to date is vitally important. A conversation last week struck this concept home. Our daughter shared that just 10 years ago when the internet was picking up steam, she interviewed for a job. Laughing hard at the remembrance, she recalled that the mission of the then company (now out of business) was to compile a hard copy Yellow Page Directory of internet sites! Obviously this was before Google came into its own. The concept is truly funny given how far we have advanced with technology. In case you are wondering, she turned the job down.
What may not be quite as funny is if any of us were to review all of our laid out services and described on our webpages only to find some are similarly outdated. Before this year ends, make it a priority to revisit everything you do. If any of your offerings are borderline, determine whether they may be saved with a little tweaking or if they truly need to be discarded. Should the latter be the case, this would be the time to implement your new idea or soul search what will be the next best route for you to take.
When you do your reviews routinely (twice per year is best) – you will be communicating that you are a leader in your field. This marketing message is what will further enable your business development by attracting more prospects and clients. The other side of this as you keep improving what you have in place, it demonstrates you care about your clientele or hiring companies making you the far more attractive candidate.
Meanwhile, continue to build relationships and you will experience a much more Smooth Sale or more readily hear HIRED!
