Use Questions to Get the Sale
The biggest difference between seasoned sales professionals and those who are not is that the seasoned lead with questions. There are a number of reasons for this:
1. Questions educate. For example, you must be so busy,why did you invite me in today? Or, you must have received so many resumes, what was it about mine that caught your attention? Aswers to these questions will let you know what to continue doing right!
2. Questions build relationships: Will you describe your position and your plans within the company? How is the problem or job vacancy affecting your work? Those meeting with you will begin to confide in you and the trust will build.
3. Questions give the exact information you need to apply what you have to their needs. How do you see the problem being solved, or the job being best pursued? This will give you the exact information you need to provide a desired proposal or to fill the open position.
