Do People Ask Permission to Purchase from You?

The first time this happened in the corporate world, I was astonished but relished the moment.  That evening I contemplated, “What was it that I did where people would actually ask permission to buy from me?”

Simply put, I observed the Golden Rule and all of the etiquette I was taught growing up.  It was all I knew how to do since sales training was not provided.  Personal conversations, getting to know the people involved and what was on their mind(s) built the friendship(s) and trust between us.  After several meetings, showing up on time, and answering all questions, I was asked if I would permit them to purchase from me.

Today, a friend asked how to sell more online.  The principles are the same.  Establish credibility through sharing what you know that will empower your clientele.  Continual serving your audience will attract more and more to follow you.  More people will implement your advice and share your postings. As this develops, requests to partner and buy from you will follow.

This process works for job seekers too.  As you share what you know, recruiters and hiring managers will invite you in for an interview.  In essence, they seek permission to meet with you.  This gives you a headstart in securing the job you desire.

Permission based selling is no longer about people registering for your newsletter.  It’s about establishing enough credibility and trust that people stop to ask, “May I purchase from you?”  This is the ultimate definition of the Smooth Sale!

NOTE:  I am collecting sales and business development questions.

Should you have one, please email me at:  [email protected]   Your question will be privately answered.  Why am I doing this?  It provides further insight as to what my clientele needs in form of future blogs and articles.  Be assured Names Are NEVER Used.
