How do you handle turbulence in your life?
This year has been particularly turbulent for many including entrepreneurs struggling to remain in business and others to find jobs to continue their careers. Much may be learned from watching how various people handle tough times. I have come to realize the way in which these tough situations are handled are underlying marketing communication messages of who they are and view the world. It will affect whether or not they attract further prospects, clients and sales – or not.
Any of these difficult situations will create stress and cause sleepless nights. But the important question is how do you show up in the world during the day?
My favorite example is that of “Yvette”. Yvette is a friend of mine who is extraordinarily talented yet she and her husband are experiencing foreclosure of their beloved home late in their life. It wasn’t entirely because they ignored payments due; their numerous attempts to work out a solution with their lender were ignored. They have come to terms with the fact they need to walk away from their home.
The beauty of watching Yvette’s situation unfold is that she has taken the moment to paint a new picture and vision. She shared that the unknown and stress are coming to an end and she is now able to make a new beginning.
When you willingly take a new perspective, your canvas becomes blank ready for you, the artist to begin creating anew. You are able to create anything your heart now desires. So what is your new vision? This approach holds true for job seekers, those on interviews and for entrepreneurs. It provides the opportunity for you to communicate you are a leader and expert in how you approach life and your field of endeavor. Adding the touch of continually building relationships with others and keeping a positive mindset, you will definitely attract new and more appealing audiences.
Business development whether building a business or finding work will be far easier and will serve to provide a brighter outlook. Over time, you will once again be headed for a Smooth Sale!
