Do you keep track or keep in touch?
Over the years, I have kept in touch with a radio show host, Wayne Kelly, www.KBSRadio.ca – Canada. Wayne has great enthusiasm for life and a delightful sense of humor. In the past, I took his classes on media interviews and checked in with him from time to time.
My recent correspondence led the tables to be turned. Wayne was delighted to learn my first book which he initially saw me struggling to promote is now an international best-seller, Nice Girls DO Get the Sale: Relationship Building That Gets Results. I then alerted him to the fact my new book, “HIRED! How to Use Sales Techniques to Sell Yourself On Interviews”was on the horizon.
Upon hearing all of my news, Wayne suggested we do classes together. He also indicated he was aware that I was the one doing much of the follow-up. My reply was, I don’t keep track, I just keep in touch. By continuing to build the relationship and remain in in touch we found a way to create something new together.
Giving up is not my style. Be of the mindset to continue to use marketing-communication methods to provide updates for the people you like and remain friendly as you build relationships – this is your business development. This philosophy applies to job-seekers too.
As you make new strides in your work others begin to see you as a leader in your field. This is where the prospect and client attraction begins and serves to increase your sales and revenue, and perhaps land you the next great job!
When you add great customer service – your business is the perfect model for repeat business, referrals and testimonials – the hallmark of a Smooth Sale!
