Create New Year Success
Change and education are the two elements you may always count on for being successful in business, career planning, and every other endeavor. Part of your education is recognizing what did not work particularly well. Analyze where the strategy took a wrong turn and either tweak to fix or replace with a refined plan.
Given change is a constant, you must always be on top of your education. How current are you with using social media to attract interest in you and your endeavors? Are you in need of a business or marketing coach – analyze precisely which type of help do you need and follow the most prudent way there is to obtain it.
Your goal should always be to reap repeat business, referrals and testimonials. Sometimes though we fall down on building relationships or even remaining in touch.
The holidays are a perfect time to regroup and reconnect. This does not have to be a huge expenditure although it will take time implementing. Call your close business friends to ask for updates. Then make a choice of whether you wish to send your past and current clients a traditional greeting card or an electronic one. Whichever you decide, I can tell you they will be appreciated because most do not go to all this trouble. As a job seeker, you will truly stand out in the crowd if you send a thoughtful card to the hiring manager of a company that has delayed making a candidate selection.
Think about it, no one takes offense by a thank you. Instead, we all wish our work was appreciated just a teensy bit more and we relish those occasional cards. The message should reflect who you are and be appropriate for the receiver. Receipt of these cards with a sincere message of appreciation, your name and phone underneath will sit on desks for a while making you noticed and remembered for certain and very possibly referred – this is the ideal of most marketing experts. Your card is also a fabulous tool for business development and building relationships with serious prospects, clients and hiring companies.
An added sales tip is when you go for an interview during the holidays – wish everyone a happy holiday as you leave the premises, and for appointments – bring candy for the receptionist and doorman. These techniques build relationships and business beautifully working wonders for your bottom line. It all becomes a very Smooth Sale!
