Finsh the Year Strong and Make the New One Even Stronger!

In the corporate world, most business is conducted the last quarter of the year.  Likewise, as job seekers and entrepreneurs, we may take advantage of this and mirror the success.

My experience has shown people are, generally speaking, happier about time off for the holidays or celebrating with family and friends.  Therefore, they are more relaxed and congenial to those trying to acquire a job or get the sale.  All that is required is to be attentive to the other party, and here are a few ideas:

1.  Ask people what their plans are for the holidays.  This automatically puts them in a good mood!

2.  Provide the receptionist and whoever else you encounter on your way into the appointment with a miniature candy bar and wish them a happy holiday.  The result will be, on occasion, remarkable!

3.  On your way out of meetings, thank the people and wish them a happy holiday season once again.

Your congeniality will mirror theirs, putting the two of you “on the same page”.  Therefore the likelihood of you moving to the next round for interviews or acquiring the sale increases dramatically.
