One Specific Trait Develops Success
A successful sales or business person perseveres. This applies to finding the right decision-maker, clarifying misunderstandings and finding solutions that are welcomed by others. In other words, perseverance is a piece of the business development plan. Adding excellent customer service and striving to continually build relationships to the mix is when your business accelerates.
Perseverance applies to finding the right job, improving on interviews, and creating a career path for oneself. The idea came to mind when just a moment ago, I told a neighbor that a good salesperson never gives up! This was in reference to her husband not being able to join us at a specific time for a neighborly get-together. I called back to find out when he would be available and said we will expect him at that time. The call was greatly appreciated.
Perhaps you tried calling someone in January who was “too busy” and you felt rejected. Now may be the best time to try once again to see if the greeting will have changed. You never know until you try. While you are at it, pledge to make at least 3 new phone calls every day to see what new business you might develop or collaboration you may form.
Possibilities are endless when you are willing to keep on going! Your underlying marketing message is you are a leader thereby encouraging others to seriously consider doing business with you. You begin to attract far many more prospects, clients, interviewing opportunities and sales. In fact, the journey becomes a very Smooth Sale!
