Connections Reflect You

We all know that what we do online is seen by many.  Therefore, our activities online become our branding and marketing tools for business and career.  The question becomes, do you have guidelines for connecting with others online?

A few sales techniques come in handy for establishing your connections:

1.  Marketplace.  Recognize not everyone is in your marketplace or do you want them to be

2.  Qualify.  Read the posts / tweets – are you in alignment with what the other person says?

3. Expand Slowly.   Seek out complementary venues to what you have to offer, first to help build your brand

4.  Reciprocity them.  On Twitter, does the person you plan to follow have a fairly balanced score between followers and following or is it one-sided?

5. Reciprocity you.  Do you make it a practice to share information you particularly like?

6.  Build relationships.  Are you reaching out to people with whom you connect to develop a deeper relationship than a couple of seconds?

Those who merely beg for connections or agree to connect with everyone and anyone will quickly get nowhere.   By paying attention to your rules for connecting, you will find better connections.  In fact, opportunity will come your way upon interacting well with others online.

Following these guidelines will guide you to the Smooth  Sale!
