Are you reluctant to ask for favors?
Most people will oblige helping another out upon request, and a smaller few will offer help without being asked. It’s a great policy to do the latter to further build relationships plus attract an increased audience in addition to feeling good that you helped another. A side benefit is that frequently, those you help will tell others, thereby building both your personal brand as well as your potential clientele.
The question then becomes, when does it become your turn for others to help you? In essence you are building a “do-good” account. The point is not to continually remind people that you helped them out, however, they themselves will remember the fact. So when you are in need of help yourself, these are the first people from whom to request a favor.
Reciprocity these days is a very big deal because many will profess they don’t have the time to help. This is the instance where you recognize instantly who your better counterparts are and on whom you may comfortably rely upon. Nurturing this relationship will further advance your business or career as you begin to methodically offer help and insight for one another.
