Friendship Appreciation Creates Increased Success

Thank You

Generally speaking, most of us seek appreciation, respect, attention and/or approval whether personally or for business.  Assuming this is true, the same may be said for the hiring manager, prospect or personal friend seeking your respect.

The key to Relationship building and selling that gets great results is giving that attention and appreciation to the person in front of you.  Usually a simple, Thank you for… is all that is required. Adapting this mindset, you will be far more likely to attract the right job, client, and better sales.

Over the years I have found thanking people for referrals and reporting back on the outcome encouraged many more.  Likewise, thanking people for their help, time, research or whatever the case may have been helped build my brand in that I was noticed, remembered and referred.  In return, I go out of my way to help those I meet and who I know making introductions, offering insight on new ideas and asking for their updates.

When you ask others for their updates or plans for the New Year, you immediately stand out from the crowded playing field as someone who actually cares.  This starts the wheels turning in the other person’s mind as to the possibilities of working together down the road.

My favorite example is of having met Valeri Bocage of Powerful Women International.  After losing everything in Hurricane Katrina, she found her way to San Francisco.  Valeri held no grudge but instead held the vision of helping women gain strength worldwide.

On a similar path is another friend, Paula Fellingham, who has also strived to help women worldwide achieve their dreams.  Paula is recognizing her own dream – she is hosting a worldwide one-day event on March 8th celebrating 100 years of women’s achievements.  She needed a lot of help to put this together currently 172 countries are hosting the event.  Upon being asked for help, I introduced her to Valeri who had contacts in place in many of these areas through her PWI chapters.

I’m now assisting Valeri with the South San Francisco portion of the event.  Given our mutual admiration for one another, Valeri nominated me to be a speaker on the 8th.  The title of my talk will be “Believe to Empower Your Success”.  The lineup of speakers and events through the day are truly remarkable. Check out Women’s International Day.  We would love to have there!

In the meantime, on a smaller scale, I too strive to help other people reach success in a shorter period of time.  This week I will be offering two Open Calls for all to attend:

1.  Wed. Jan 26 ~ “How to Use Sales Techniques to Sell Yourself On Interviews

2.  Thurs. Jan 27 ~ “How to Write A Book and Sell More Copies”

Both calls will take place at 9:00 a.m. PST / Noon EST / 6:00 p.m. Europe

This is my way of saying thank you and helping you to find and enjoy your Smooth Sale!
